Home Minister Urges Immediate Action Against Crime Without Waiting for Instructions

Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane directed security officials across all 77 districts to combat smuggling, hooliganism, and exploitation of natural resources. In a virtual address from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Lamichhane emphasized the need for proactive measures against criminal activities, stating that waiting for instructions is unnecessary.

Lamichhane also condemned the practice of exerting pressure for transfers, promotions, and protection, even in cases of mistakes. He stressed the importance of upholding accountability at all times.

During the session, Home Secretary Yek Narayan Aryal, Inspector General of Police Basant Kunwar, Inspector General of Armed Police Force Raju Aryal, and other officials provided additional instructions to District Security Committee officials on various matters including security, governance, service delivery, and civil service.
